Today, 8th March 2023, marks one of the most celebrated and highly anticipated festivals in India named Holi. It is a festival marked with colors and signifies the victory of good over evil. On the eve of Holi, there is a bonfire (known as Holika Dahan) where people gather to pray.

Ever since my childhood days, it seemed as if Holi and Diwali are the most celebrated festivals. As I grow older, it still holds true. People on Holi play with colors and do all sorts of activities to keep each other engaged for as long as possible. Extensive dancing to Holi-related songs and music takes place. People also engage in snacking and drinking amid celebrations.
When I was a kid, I used to take much interest in playing colors on Holi with friends and family. But as I grow older, it continues to fade away. Every year for as long as I can remember, the main pooja (worshiping God) on Holi at my home is done by me. This gives me immense joy to take the center stage in one of the most important moments of a big festival.
Coincidently, Holi is on the same day as International Women’s Day. I wish all Women a very happy Women’s Day and thank you for all the work you do for the betterment of your family, society, and the world.
